THE BANDS 2008 CHAMPIONS
THE KPIS POP BAND from Keera-Pat International School won the first prize of “International School’s Battle of the Bands 2008”
the first ever pop band competition at NIVAInternationalSchool, Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday 17th February, 2008.
THE KPIS POP BAND from Keera-Pat International School consisting of 6 talented students from secondary school, Myu (vocal), Com (vocal), Jack (drums), Net (bass), Mine (guitar) and Lucky (Keyboard) that showed an outstanding quality and high standard in music performance to the judges, NIVA fans and a lot of audience, on the stage at NIVA International School.
On the day many pop bands from various international schools in Bangkok came to “InternationalSchool’s Battle of the Bands 2008” at NIVAInternationalSchool, with an excellent quality and high standard in music performance and with the same purpose & intention, the first prize & the champion’s trophy. They also came with so many music styles (Pop, jazz, country, gospel, disco, R&B, jazz, blues, rock, and hip-hop, but strictly no bad language of any kind) and casual smart of dress codes.
But with a lot of practice and hard training for a long time, THE KPIS POP BAND from Keera-Pat International School can performed on the stage very well with the outstanding music performance and excellent musicianship like the professional artist with 2 songs, “This Love” from Maroon 5 by Mr.Com for the first round and “I will Survive” from Gloria Gaynor by Miss Myu for the final round.
At the final round, there were extreme 3 pop bands from 3 international schools performed on the stage. The first band was “THE KPIS POP BAND” from Keera-PatInternationalSchool. The second band was “Forte” from BromsgroveInternationalSchool. The third band was “Why me” from NIVAInternationalSchool with a lot of NIVA fan club and audience.
Contest Criteria: Contestants should consider the following criteria mentioned below. Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.

After the competition, “THE KPIS POP BAND” brought the champion’s trophy return to Keera-PatInternationalSchool with victorious music performance, excellent musical experiences and happiness from their friends & families. It was the first musical champion’s trophy of KPIS but it wasn’t the last absolutely. It was a tremendous achievement by THE KPIS POP BAND and they now have the honor of being the first ever champions of “InternationalSchool’s Battle of the Bands 2008”.
From now THE KPIS POP BAND will be the initial small step of success which is show our potential and effort to move on to the bigger step. Although they are so young and new but they have an outstanding music performance, very well attitude in music and excellent musical talent. Everyone believes that now they are the hottest teen-age students in school and in the future they will certainly bring more musical successful to our school, Keera-PatInternationalSchool.
HISTORY OF THE KPIS POP BAND
All members of THE KPIS POP BAND have known each other since attending secondary school together in Keera-PatInternationalSchool, Bangkok, Thailand
First in 2007, music teacher, Mr.Pongsithorn Sareeratana (T.Note) (Jazz Pianist & Instructor of Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University) had an idea to establish the school band with the main purpose “To make school famous with music” so he chose 6 best teen-age musicians from secondary school students to form THE KPIS POP BAND, the first of Keera-Pat International School Band.
THE KPIS POP BAND members were Mr. Patcharapon Tunkhew (Jack)–Drums and Mr. Jirachanat Sukphanpim (Lucky)–Keyboard joined up with Miss Pornlumon Nirachatsuwan (Net)–Bass and Mr. Sirakupt Aonsa-ard (Com)-Vocal. 2 daughters of Dr.Teanchai, Miss Panita Keeraswangporn (Myu)–Vocal and Miss Chalida Keeraswangporn (Mine)-Guitar also joined up with the band.
And when the band was ready, with take care of Mr.Pongsithorn Sareeratana (KPIS POP BAND SUPERVISOR) and full support from school, THE KPIS POP BAND can practice at after lunch and after school everyday with excellent musical materials and comfortable studio room. With practice slowly and hard training plus musical talent, THE KPIS POP BAND can perform a variety of popular songs (Thai + Inter) with an outstanding music performance and excellent quality of sound. They performed on the stage at the auditorium every school events like house day, singing contest to celebrate the 80th Birthday of His Majesty the King 2007, KPIS Christmas Celebration, KPIS open house 2008…etc and also performed outside school events like USA Fair 2007 and win the first prize of “International School’s Battle of the Bands 2008” at NIVA International School.
